Yash Chawla is the main organiser of the international conference CRAFTing Human‑Tech‑Society, taking place on 14–16 April 2026 at Wrocław University of Science and Technology. The event aims to provide a broad discussion platform dedicated to responsible innovation and sustainable development.

Project presentations at "Młodzi Liderzy Biznesu – Innowacje i Wyzwania Przyszłości"

Project‑related presentations were delivered at the national conference "Młodzi Liderzy Biznesu – Innowacje i Wyzwania Przyszłości".

2nd International Conference on Social Contexts of Science

Yash Chawla organised the 2nd International Conference on Social Contexts of Science, held on 12–13 May 2025 at Wrocław University of Science and Technology. The conference provided researchers with a platform to discuss the societal impact of their research, fostering greater social acceptance of science. The project team contributed two presentations:

  • Empowering Circular Economy Through Effective Waste Segregation Awareness: An Innovation‑Driven Approach to Sustainable Public Engagement – Jay Bhanderi.
  • Exploring the Potential of Smart Packaging in Circular Economy Strategies – Małgorzata Fiałkowska‑Filipek, Promporn Wangwacharakul, Justina Karpaviče and Yash Chawla.

International Staff Training Week

Yash Chawla co‑organised the International Staff Training Week on "Engaging Society in Science and Technology through Effective Communication", 12–16 May 2025 at Wrocław University of Science and Technology. The event included workshops and a conference to facilitate science dissemination and outreach.

Lectures on sustainability and Circular Economy

Yash Chawla delivered a series of lectures on sustainability and social acceptance of the Circular Economy in Poland, India and Tanzania.

Science communication and teaching activities

The project's results on stakeholder roles were integrated into the new academic course Research, Innovation and Societal Impact, introducing research findings directly into university teaching.

Student presentations at the 5th International Conference on Strategies toward Green Deal Implementation

Three project‑related student presentations were delivered at the 5th International Conference on Strategies toward Green Deal Implementation – Water, Raw Materials & Energy in Green Transition, Kraków, Poland, 27–29 November 2024.

  • Natalia Kosińska and Yash Chawla: Implementing Agile Management Practices in Regional Municipal Waste Processing Installations.
  • Viktor Melnyk and Yash Chawla: AI‑Driven Collaborative Framework for Managing Sustainable Consumer Behaviour in Urban Environments.
  • Jędrzej Cieślak and Yash Chawla: Assessing the Confluence of Sustainability and Business Models in the Mobile App Development Industry in Poland: An Investigation into Company Strategies and User Perceptions.

Results of the competition for two research fellowships for young scientists (28 October 2024)

On October 28, 2024, a meeting of the Selection Committee was held to select the candidates in the research project titled “MoSAic: A Tetrahedral Model for Understanding and Increasing Social Acceptance of the Circular Economy” (No. 2022/47/D/HS4/03444).

By October 21, 2024, two candidates had entered the competition. The Committee members reviewed the complete documentation of all candidates and evaluated their scientific achievements. After a thorough analysis, they unanimously approved the applications of the following two individuals:

  • Jędrzej Cieślak
  • Wiktor Melny

Announcement of the results of the competition for 3 research fellowships for young scientists (29 April 2024)

By April 28, 2024, three candidates had entered the competition. The Committee members reviewed the complete documentation of all candidates and evaluated their scientific achievements. After a thorough analysis, they unanimously approved the applications of the three candidates:

Conference participation on Circular Economy

Anna Kowalska‑Pyzalska and Agata Marszałek participated in the scientific conference Przedsiębiorstwa i miasta w gospodarce o obiegu zamkniętym, 29 February 2024, SGH Warsaw School of Economics.

Awareness campaigns

The project team conducted awareness campaigns using posters that encouraged residents to improve waste segregation and helped event organisers facilitate this process.

Yash Chawla presented the poster Agent‑Based Modeling for Analyzing Customer Behavior in the Context of Circular Economy at the Social Simulation Conference 2023, University of Glasgow, United Kingdom (co‑authored with Anna Kowalska‑Pyzalska).
